“SPRING JOURNEY TO THE ANCIENT TOWERS” – SPRING COLORS CONVERGE, SPREADING HERITAGE VALUES

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the fire Horse 2026, the Department of Culture and Arts under the Management Board of Mỹ Sơn World Cultural Heritage organized a special art program titled “Spring Journey to the Ancient Towers.” The program will take place on the 28th and the 2nd days of the Lunar New Year, with performances at 9:00 AM and 2:45 PM at Tower Group A. It promises to offer visitors a rich cultural tourism space imbued with traditional identity,  heritage with the rhythm of modern life.  The event not only provides a unique artistic experience for visitors during the Lunar New Year but also serves as a tourism promotion initiative to stimulate early-year travel demand. It contributes to strengthening the image of Mỹ Sơn Temple Complex as a culturally distinctive and heritage-rich destination. The art program “Spring Journey to the Ancient Towers” consists of three main parts:

Part 1: The Call from the Ancient Towers.
From the sun and wind swept land where moss-covered ancient towers rise against the blue sky, the Cham people have, for generations, preserved their culture and safeguarded the soul of their homeland. The sound of the horn echoes like the voice of ancestors calling their descendants to reunite. The resounding drums across the land and sky carry the Cham people’s aspirations for survival, their faith in the deities, and their deep love for their homeland.

Part 2: The New Year Peace-Praying Ritual
Festivals are not only moments of joyful reunion but also sacred occasions for descendants to remember their ancestors and reconnect with heaven, earth, and the divine. In remembrance of the deities who contributed to building and protecting the homeland, the Rija Harei ritual offers prayers for favorable weather, peace, and prosperity in the coming year.

Part 3: The Harmony of Spring

As spring arrives, the Cham people come alive in vibrant festival colors. Skillful hands weave brocade textiles, craft pottery, and perform graceful dances expressing wishes for favorable weather and peaceful, happy lives. The program concludes with a grand artistic performance delivering a message of sustainable tourism development closely linked with heritage preservation.

Within the framework of the program, visitors will also have the opportunity to participate in experiential activities titled “Journey to Discover Heritage Tết” at the Mỹ Sơn Temple Complex during the Lunar New Year of the fire horse 2026.
