In order to diversify and innovate the types of performance to serve tourists, the Mỹ Sơn Chăm Culture and Folk Art Department organized a practice plan and a new performance "Doi Ciet" It would be introduced starting from September 2, 2023. The dance "Doi Ciet" is a new unique work, selected from the Champa treasure of folk culture and art, giving tourists unique meaningful folk art culture experiences.
Dance "doi ciet" is a traditional dance of the Cham people with both spiritual and traditional elements. On the occasion of the festival at the temples, Champa girls often dance such as; betel nuts dance, offering incense dance...and the dance "Doi Ciet" is considered the most beautiful dance. Ciet is used to contain deity clothes. Champa girls carry the ‘Ciet’ on their head, wearing jnam towels in shoulder, holding fans on their hands. The dance is not only flexible, passionate, graceful but also gentle and beautiful. This performance describes the story that Champa people offer the deity clothes which are received the Raglai people. After that, the deity clothes are carried to the temples and put on the deity statue in the ceremony. Doi Ciet is a traditional dance, so dancers need skillful, definitive and precise movements of wrist, ankle and body to perform beautiful and soulful dance.
Besides, the Cultural Heritage Management Board of Mỹ Sơn always create new art performance to attract tourists to My Son relic.
